House Ghost Theater will present The Queen of Spades and The Legend of Pauline Munrid at the Modern Prometheans in May 2026.

Synopsis 1880. A small-town woman from a temperance league, in the style of Carrie Nation, shows an almost magical ability to fight.
The fighting isn’t real. It’s super fake and funny. The characters are broadly drawn. All actors must be facile both physically and technically as actors. This will be a work out.
Casting for the following roles:
4 women, 3 men.
The Daughter an obnoxious pip.
The Grey Nurse (prefer someone comfortable on roller skates.) spectral.
Mrs. Bells elegant, speaks well.
Crazy Woman a crazy woman.
Bartender/Drunk Barkeep funny, scary, transformative.
Robert a fop.

Synopsis 1830. A disreputable man believes the wealthiest woman in Russia holds the secret to winning at every card game.
This play is taken Pushkin’s novel, with some horror added in a style like Roger Corman’s Poe films.\
Lisa: Elegant. Fluent in proper etiquette. Reckless. Not a victim.
Geraman: (Pronounced Gur-a-mon) Passionate, close to losing control. Not a hero.
Chekalinsky: Elegant. Speaks well.
Polis: Elegant. Should be comfortable with cards.
Prince: In love, in control, foolish, murderous.
